Cycling in Sheffield is either great fun or pure torture. Usually depending on which direction you are going. As you probably guessed this is due to it being a very hilly place (nicely demonstrated by the fact that it takes about 6 minutes to get into work and 15 – 20 minutes to get back home).
Another Wednesday another concert. This time three pieces for piano: Debussy Etudes, Stravinsky (or, according to the program Stavisnky) Sonata, and Ravel Miroirs.
I’ve recently started working at Sheffield University and yesterday this had an unexpected benefit. One of the professors in my new department had a spare ticket to a chamber-music concert and I quickly snaffled it up.
