We’ve been making the most of the heatwave that hit the UK in the last week and a half (it’s over now, unfortunately) by going out for nice walks in the countryside. The nice thing about the area around Milton Keynes is that there is a large variety in the possible walks.
Our first walk took us to the area around Wigginton (photos here), which was a nice mix of walking along fields, through woods, and along the Grand Union canal. There was also quite a bit of height difference between the various parts, which made for a varied experience. The next week we went to Ashridge Estate, where the whole walk was in a wooded area and mostly flattish, so much more relaxing an experience. It’s a bit windy and grey cloud cover today, so we’ll see whether we venture out, but it’s bound to be enjoyable (unless, I guess, we get rained on or similar).
